Thank God for the weather

“It’s a beautiful day and I thank God for the weather / It’s a beautiful day and I’m living it for the Lord / It’s a beautiful day and things are going to get better / Living each day on the promises of God’s word.”

I absolutely adore the rain outside.  I laugh inside as I watch people run for shelter or walk around carrying these huge umbrellas when it is simply a light drizzle.  I find myself walking very slowly with my head tilted up.  God desires for us all to be drenched in the grace that is poured out.  We all seem to be scared of being totally covered in it.  What if I have to change? What if I must give up something?  What if this…that… We run and we attempt to hide but the water builds and creeps in the cracks of the closet that we try to hide in.  You can not hide — there is no use in trying.  Why run? Why not just get drenched, get it over with and live the life that God has for you?

“you can’t deal with the life that God wants to give you until you can deal with the life that you have now”
– John Eldredge

[...] have wrote about this before, like way back in February of 2005.  When I lived and worked in Alaska we would wake up singing this song if the weather was dreary. [...]
